Passing is one of the basic skill for footballers to master. Most footballers either professional or beginner have this skill in their locker. It is one of the most basic and also the most fundamental aspect of the game. Like any other skill, mastering it takes time, even though it seems easy.
In this last recent years, many football equipment companies came up with their product which is called rebounder, which could be found anywhere now. Also, you can see many players use many other fancy types of equipment like that and post it in many social media platforms, which looks cool. But, the truth is, you don’t need those things to train. I mean if you have money to spent and you think it will help you then go for it. However, if not having those things become the reason for you to not improve yourself, you just made a mistake.
Most professional footballers from previous generations don’t have access to those things, yet they still made it to the top. So, it cannot be your excuse not to improve yourself. Here are three things that you actually need to improve your passing:
Ball
This is your best friend. The most important equipment that you actually need to spend your money on is the football itself. It is simple as that you spend most of your time with a ball at your feet. Here are the famous quotes from the baller himself:
I learned all about life with a ball at my feet.
Ronaldinho
Wall
You can literally find a wall in every place. It could be in your room, houses, backyard, parking lot, wherever you are, you can absolutely train. Passing a ball with every part of your foot from various distances is an effective way to improve that muscle memory in your foot. A famous saying by the Arsenal legend:
Most of the time I was by myself, just kicking the ball against the wall, seeing how it bounces, how it comes back, just controlling it. I found that so interesting.
Dennis Bergkamp
Self Desire
If you have a will and desire to learn and improve, you will find a way, not an excuse. It so easy to make excuses not to train – blaming the weather, the shoes, spaces, etc – but if you want it bad enough you automatically will find solutions. Your desire and eagerness to learn should be your motivation to progress, I know it is easy to say. But it is what its, sometimes you just have to deal with it.
Those are all three that I have for you. I know it is simple, but sometimes people just over complicate simple things. Hope it makes sense and you can apply those things straight away. Stay safe and healthy, ballers!
