MatchFit Conditioning: Football Fitness Bible Book Review

Yes guys, here with another blog post. If you remember, a couple of weeks ago I have managed to review their In-Season program which is a top-class product. Today I’m going to review a book from MatchFit Conditioning titled Football Fitness Bible. I bought their ebook version even though they also have the physical version. I thought the digital version will come in handy as I can read it anywhere I want. However, they do have the physical version, in case you want it. Without any further, let’s dive right into it!

What is it about?

Essentially, this is a book that covers all the necessary knowledge around the physical aspect of football. It mainly contains fitness and nutrition knowledge as well as misconceptions that are related to a certain topic. Interestingly, it covers from the simplest topics through to the most complex. All of them are insightful and have been backed up with scientific findings. This book also dives into how to work smartly by using the knowledge that has been provided, however, it’s not about the reps and the sets you need to do.

Some fitness topics include the different types of strength, the benefits of training barefoot, the pros and cons of treadmill training, and many more which I cannot cover. Additionally, topics such as the ideal body fat percentage for footballers, using beetroot juice to increase performance, buying healthy food on a budget for football performance optimisation and a lot more. Here are some snippet of what I’m saying:

The Author

The football fitness book is written by the vast experience coaches within their specific area of study. James Donnelly is the founder of MatchFit Conditioning played a vital role in this book production. On top of that, there are coaches that specialized in strength & conditioning, nutrition, psychology as well as injury rehab that contributes their knowledge to this book. All of them have had experiences working in professional club settings. The nutritionist was even known to work with Manchester United. To supplement that, they have acquired qualifications in their respective area of study. Hence the knowledge they provided has been researched thoroughly.

My Verdict

I genuinely liked and enjoyed every bit they have put in. Even though I haven’t applied all of them myself but surely it has provided me with grounded knowledge. Moving forward, I can have confidence and reassurance in what I do and put into my body. If I’ve ever in doubt, I can reread and rewind to the topic that I’m not sure about. It also comes down to the fact that they have the knowledge and experience in this field. As a result, I would be less worry about what value can I get from the content. Instead of scrolling through the internet and not getting the answer, I can just open the e-book and get the top class explanation.

Overall, I think it was a great investment especially for players who wants to get an extra edge over their competitions. I would say it is not a generic book with general knowledge that you’d find on the internet. If you are still not convinced by my thoughts, just head over to Matchfit Conditioning’s website and see what other players have said. Here is the link to the product if you guys interested to invest some for yourself.
